Every internal combustion engine will require a rebuild eventually. It just depends if you want to sell a car on or keep it long term.

I think if dvn is happy with the discount then there's no reason to not buy the car. It comes down to maths: 997.1 C2S price (+rebuild) < 997.2 C2S if condition and mileage are equal. There is a very limited pool of cars available.

Not everyone wants to buy a 911 with 80,000 miles on, more fool them, but this is why low mileage cars command such a premium. Interestingly this is slowly correcting itself as cars age. 996 C4S examples are now commanding top money at anything under 60,000 miles. The car the OP is buying would have been sensible money with those miles 5 years ago rather than top whack.
