Private sale options and thoughts in the current market for a 992 (?)

I miss the air-cooled value threads 😪

To answer the original question, check compatible prices on autotrader, get an autotrader valuation for your reg and mileage. Set a price that seems attractive or follow Autotrader pricing recommendation on price. You should realise the value of the car and get a relatively good response to your advert!

Can you have a word with my wife please.
I’m still recovering from the silent treatment I received so I’ll leave that to you mate:)

PistonHeads is an awful place, I actually deleted my account, loads of wannabe Porsche owners that simply find it impossible to come to term with the fact they can’t afford one.
What about Mumsnet?......oh wait

Here comes the Spring, thank God :)

Not forgetting the 992.2 is coming soon

prices on OPC website are holding steady at around 80K for a base 992. I imagine they will stay there a while with the inevitable spring price rise and 992.2 around the corner. This is despite the PH crew doing there best to talk down prices 😁

PH is a strange place to visit. Even on the Porsche specific sub-forums there don't seem to be that many actual owners. Of those that say they are, or have been, an owner I suspect that there's a percentage that are telling 'porkies' - pardon the pun :) .

I hadn't spent much time there until someone on this thread posted a link but I've added it to my daily 'lurk list' and it does make me smile.

The most common denominator in any of their discussions about values and asking prices seems to be their failure to appreciate the difference between trade/auction prices and private/retail. As proven by those that have occasionally ventured on 911uk they can't seem to accept that private sellers and any dealer - let alone a Porsche specialist- will never sell them a car at WBAC or CC money.

As with any marque over the last 4 months values have fallen. Asking prices have been adjusted, sometimes quite significantly, to reflect that but it doesn't mean anyone can anticipate the same % fall over the next four months.
