As I live in Finland where they liberally salt the roads, it's almost a necessity to tuck the nicer vehicles up for the Winter. With this in mind, I typically run a winter car. Previous cars have included Audi Avants, 958 Turbo etc. I now just bought an Audi A5 3.0 TDI S-Tronic Quattro - fuel is now so expensive and I always liked the look of Walter De Silva's favourite work. It's actually quite an accomplished brute.

Keen to hear what others run.

E82 135i for me.

Defender 90 hardtop for me, air suspension to get a bit more height through the flooded lanes and deployable tow bar for the 4 legged bay eating moneybox transportation.

apart from the 997 ... we've also got an old tow car/family workhorse.

An unmodified Discovery3 2.7TD V6 with a solid 189hp and 550NM of torque, running Falken all-terrains in summer and Goodyear Ultragrip studded tyres in winter (they were cheaper than the proper Nokian Hakkapeliitta10 SUVs).

Does the horse eat hay too?

I use a 7 Series all year as a DD. Pictured at the top of the Great St Bernard pass this morning. Unusually, no sign of snow yet.

Ditto! Mine is basically a fat hatchback though.

Pictures without sleet or snow don't count. Perhaps that's why I'm on my third tandem pump :dont know:
