Hey guys - possibly a dumb question, but what oil are you using on your 996s?

Tempted to do a minor DIY service (oil and filters), on my 2003 Targa.

I know the recommendation from factory was 0/40 Mobil1, but have also heard recommendations to now go to a 5/40 with these cars now getting a little older etc.

I searched the forum, but couldn't find answers, so any thoughts / recommendations welcomed.

Cheers

It's been covered endlessly, try a search on Millers Nano.

I'll just go and get my can opener

Mine was religiosly on mobil one 0w40 until I hit around 140k then I moved on to Shell Helix 5w40 for the next 20k miles. 160k miles on the ticker now.

I use Millers Nano 5w40 on 118K

Whateer you use, make sure it's up to temp bafore caning her
