Ideal tall driver 993 steering wheel arrangement

As a 6ft 3in driver I could do with having the steering wheel nearer and higher. I have seen the offset spacer and dished steering wheels but I don't want the difficulties of too much gap to the stalks. Can anyone please give me the ideal combination?

Many thanks I didn't realise it was possible to move the rails back. Problem I'm then left even further away from the steering wheel.

I changed to a dished Momo wheel to improve my leg room. I agree the stalks are further away, however you quickly get used to it. It's worked really well for me I'm 6.2.

Thanks for your thoughts on the MOMO wheel. Can I please ask which wheel you bought and how much nearer it brings the wheel? Is it the same diameter?

I fitted the 964 r/s wheel which was a factory option, resistor on the airbag wire to trick the system. Worked beautifully

Thanks for replying. I have been doing my homework on previous discussions and a number of thoughts from 6ft 2in drivers. I'm 6ft 3in. I'm going to have to digest all this. Seems the offset spacer is a starter and maybe a shallow dished wheel or flat with an additional spacer. I'm assuming the boss for flat Momo puts the wheel where the standard wheel is? Not sure the 40mm dish will be too much? I'll have to look for a 964 R/S wheel - are they difficult to find?

I'm 6ft 3, and had issues with me fitting comfortably in my 993.

1. I replaced the standard steering wheel with a smaller diameter club sport.
2. Replaced the seats for recaro pols with south bound trimmers seat mounts.
3. Replaced door cards with RS spec cards.
4. Replaced pedal set up with adjustable rennline pedal set.
5. Replaced the seatbelt tong for a webbed version.

Now the car is set up for my build and driving style and is perfect.

You can read more about my set up here: http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=146936

Hope this helps

Cheers

Matt gets them at type911 in Beckenham
He gets the proper steering column cowl also.
The wheel is the same as the one above, lovely grip, they're proper fat, so much better than any wheel i e owned

6ft 2in here and the original 4-spoke wheel (370mm) rubbed on my knees. For last few years have ran a 350mm Prototipo with an eccentric spacer, combined this places the wheel about 25mm higher and a little closer. Seat position also makes a massive difference, rear of the base all the way down, front all the way up, like a bucket seat, back adjusted for perfect arm length to wheel.

Tried a dished momo wheel but couldn't get on with the distance from the stalks, try one before you buy I'd say.

Thanks for all your advice. I really appreciate it. I'm going to have to absorb it all and make a decision somehow.
