Yesterday while driving home I encountered an unusual problem. While braking both windows decided to open fully. This happened four times within 5 minutes and started to p!ss me off. The car has been fine today but I have booked it in to OPC Mid Sussex to be checked. Anyone else had anything like this?

The disturbed air flow caused by the open windows acts as an effective air brake - slowing the vehicle more rapidly.
Its known as PBOAB - Porsche Brake Operated Air Brake.

No - not heard of this one Dave, but at least it wasn't raining! You would think it must be a crossed sire seomwhere.

perhaps you are suffering from BO, and the car cant take any more

What's a crossed sire? Have I missed something?

Honest awnser is that it sounds like something is activiating the switch in the door lock that opens and closes the windows on the key,

Never heard anything like before Dave - maybe the huge breaking forces generated are causing the window switches to be forced forward, thus opening the windows?

Sorry, but thats as sensible as can get

Covering up our ignorance with a flippant remark. Do it all the time professionally. Seriously would love to assist, but haven't got a clue. Very weird.

Mind you had someone else posted such a question I would have been the first to come back with something equally flippant
. I guess what goes round comes round or whatever it is.

I think I will stick to Stevo's explanation 8)

Are the windows going down at the same time ?

When this happens, are you braking very hard ?

Are they opening fully ?

Did the door lock at the same time ?

Did any dash lights come on ?

Did it happen on the way to work ?

Did the car sit in sunlight all day before you drove her home ?
