I've had a slight weep on the LH bank for aeons but never to the point it drips. Anyway, last week my mate pointed out a small puddle of oil under the car. Had a gander over the weekend and the rear plug tube was leaking.
Seemed easier than messing about trying to get the o rings. Arrived today so decided to fit it in my lunch break. 40 minute job lead on the works car park with a 5mm Allen key.
I'll not waffle about fitting as there's already a write-up or two in here. What a did do though was compare the original one with the new one to see how much the seals have changed over time. Measured the larger orange one and there was 2mm difference in the diameters
No wonder it was leaking!!!!
Infrasilver posted a pict of a tool he made to remove these a few years back .. i thought it looks usefull so copyed his design.
It works a treat .. far better than the Porsche tool for this job .
I told them at work and got kinda laughed at but what ever .. after a few weeks one guy asked to borrow the tool .. followed by the others over the next few monthes ..
Hats off there as ive not mentioned this before so its due :thumb:
