996tt to 997.1 GT3 - finally gone and done it!

Since yours is a clubsport you've already got most of what anyone looking to track one of these would have added. I added aftermarket cage, buckets, harnesses which you won't need to do...

If I was doing this all over again though, the first thing I would do is change the wheels for some light weight OZ's or similar. The improvement in handling is very noticeable, the car will feel a lot lighter than with those OEM wheels

(I've just spotted that Bigfra has recently swapped out of his 997 GT3 into a 991 GT3 and selling his old OZ's, worth a shot if you have any spare cash left :thumb: )

Very, very, very nice.

A move I'd love to make in the future.

Had a ride in a friends GT3 at Donington a few years ago, been smitten ever since. The noise, the braking......

Thanks Roro. Yes, Alcon are just a short drive away from me - I'd not realised - so would be good to support local Midlands industry.

I'm sure the inevitable agenda creep will hit the list!

Suggest you talk to Matt at Fearnsport and Nick (NXI120) Uber9S on here for the best deal on Alcons and Pagid set up.

Cheers. After getting used to the 996tt (and thoroughly enjoying it) it's almost like learning to drive all over again. Steering, grip, throttle response, that engine, and the astonishing carbon brakes all add up to a very different driving experience.

Yep, I'd sort of figured that was inevitable. Just need to let the dust settle on the purchase and the other necessary assaults on the wallet (paint protection film and ceramic coating).
