Hi Guys
Has anyone used SGM Racepaint Banbury or Prestige Wheel Centre in Birmingham?

I need my Turbo 1 Alloys refurbished and the best wheel guy (Exel) has closed his business.

Thanks

Oh no!

Have you spoken to Chris?

I am sad to say that Chris is no longer doing refurbs as he was my first choice.

What? No! Really?

I used Prestige in Birmingham around fifteen years ago on a set of BMW wheels (previous life). They were okay, certainly not as good as Chris.

Yes, very sad news indeed!

I messaged Chris today on Facebook and he confirmed he is not operating at the moment and is planning to wind-up the business :nooo:

I think I will try Whoopswheelfixit in Enfield for my change of wheel colour.

The Wheel Specialist. Nationwide. Search for your nearest branch.

Alternatively, OPC approved bodyshops do wheel refurbs and supply a loan car. Pricing is competitive. They farm out the job but the work will carry full warranty. One OPC used to use the local branch of The Wheel Specialists.

Or you can use Lepsons (where Exel Wheeks sends them) if you can send the wheels to them via an indy - who will charge you labour for removing, courier charges and refitting them and possibly storage costs as it means cluttering up their workshop for a few days.

drmark can you PM what they charged please?

After much, and I mean much, research and long phone calls I am going to go with Reinventing the Wheel.

They seem to know their stuff.

Good luck buddy! I feel your pain!

I am taking mine to Whoopswheelfixit in Enfield tomorrow, for my change of wheel colour. I'll probably create a new post with my experience and before/after pics.

Good choice, have used them for my 997 turbo and Macan GTS. I understand that OPC Tewkesbury use them along with Broughtons Aston garage in Cheltenham.

Sorry, just seen this. It depends on the wheel but if a diamond cut one like the 997 T it will be around £130 a corner. More like £160 if they need straightening.
They are VERY good though.
When I was last there they had some pretty fancy wheels in (Bentley, Ferrari, Aston etc).
