Gen II C2S Suspension Upgrades (DSC, Tractive)

I’m glad you are getting good service. I understand 9E and TracTive have parted ways now and no longer supplying them. Best of luck with your amazing setup.

Thats sad news. They're still supporting existing customers. It was Ken/9e who persuaded me to put them on to be fair. Happy I listened and perhaps as TracTive get larger OEM orders for manufacturers customer service for smaller aftermarket market tuners and indies not there at the moment? All I can say in terms of my own experience how often does the UK MD of the manufacturer take personal time to trouble shoot TracTive UK have been super helpful with me? TracTive a bunch of motorsport engineers and enthusiasts and I can see how they might get customer service wrong as they grow. Its not easy being a small European manufacturer and competing against mass produced Far East manufactured products from more established brands.

should not even need to trouble shoot in the 1st place at that price. I can see why 9E don;t want to resell them. the dampers are only as good as the software and in older cars thats the last thing any one wants to have to try and sort out. imho. Manthey makes cars go faster with a passive set up. a few clicks from your normal set up you know where you are and the car drives the same . TracTive changes how the car drives and feels fake, Not for me in my life time.
Not on older cars anyway where we are all looking to get feel and feedback from the seat of our pants and enjoy driving, over software tweeks !

I know 2 people and I am not even big in the track day groups now who ditched Active setups. Back to Manthey or Ohlins. So going by that there must be 100's who have given it a go and took it back off.

IMI the "UK MD of the Manufacturer" is just a guy who bought some Tractives, actually a few years after I bought mine, and thought it could be a business opportunity and to be fair he seems to have done quite well with it but for the 997 platform it is best to go with the people who first developed the Tractive package to work with DSC controller, that is TPC racing in the States they know the product inside out and have raced extensively with it on the 997.
I have had zero issues with my TPC supplied set up apart from the rears needing a rebuild after a few years but I understand now that they are quoting 18K miles or 2 years of street use between inspections which is a bit of a pain.

Thanks Toby, I'm super happy with mine and 9e are still supporting me with mine.

P GT, I can not comment on why 9e do not sell them anymore but I do know they went back and forth on OPs car without any joy. TracTive are digital though for sure and not for everyone/purists.

In a 700/800 bhp 997 turbo/GT2 or any PASM equipped GT3/GT2 RS they're worth their weight in gold if you like going fast around corners.

Alois Ruf knows his 911s. See below his £1m mezger CTR with bespoke carbon fibre monocoque chassis which and Ruf spec TracTive. Ruf do know how to make a 911 go down a road. CTR Anniversary below is 730bhp on the dyno and weighs only 1250kg. Helping to handle 580bhp/tonne in a rwd 911 safely and predictably with TracTive in Rufs new hyper 911 super impressive IMO ;)

Pushrod suspension! Phwoar!

Horizontal suspension set up at the front. Further helps dial out bounce and porpoising inherent in the OEM set up but even in conventional set up TracTive all but eliminates bounce. Detailing on the CTR porn.

It's more to reduce un-sprung mass as much as possible, as the whole damper and spring are now un-sprung... And I did find the DSC helped remove / reduce the front end bounce on stock dampers, but the real thing to say is... that is amazing!!

Cause is less un-sprung mass and effect is less bounce inherent in a rear engine 911. When discussing the technical spec of CTR on YT Alois Ruf actually refers setting the suspension up in this way in his new hyper 911 to dial out bounce. ;)

I think I'll need to look that up - the old video of the Yellowbird round the 'ring is / was awesome, so this will be mega!

Interested in this. I have Tractive tourings + DSC on my 997 now. The ride below 30mph is definitely firmer than on the standard springs/dampers, but above that speed it is beautifully supple. M5sime - was yours crashy at all road speeds or only at slow speed?
