Good Morning all,

I may being putting my 991 up for sale soon. I've looked on Autotrader to try and see what the realistic value is currently and asking prices seem to vary.

Mine is 2012 991.1 Carrera S (25/04/2012)
4 owners
Black
46k
PDK, PADM, PASM
Porsche crest embossed in headrest
PTV Plus
14 way seat
heated seats rear wiper
Alacantra roof lining
Sunroof
Sport Chrono plus
Steering column with electric reach/height adjustment
BOSE

I have owned the car for just over a year and it's not being driven enough, it had new discs and pads on prior to me purchasing the car in July last year and I have only covered 1350 miles in that time.

Since owning the car I have had the following works carried out:

Height sensor replaced
Both rear calipers repaired as the garage had put the wrong nipples in when changing the discs and pads.
Rear wiper replaced
Rear bumper resprayed as there was a few marks on it.
Minor service and brake fluid change
Drive belt change and new air filter
Full 2 stage machine polish and ceramic coat.
Cam actuators replaced in bank 1.

Full service history:

7/12/2013 - 7664 miles @ Porsche West London
24/07/2014 - 11312 miles @ Porsche West London
12/08/2016 - 21162 miles @ Porsche Hatfield
12/09/2018 - 35393 miles @ Pannal motor centre Harrogate
01/12/2020 - 41764 miles @ Pannal motor centre Harrogate.
16/01/2012 - 45448 miles @ Porsche Specialist service Romford.

Brake fluid changes 24/04/2014, 12/08/2016, 12/09/2018 & 16/01/2023.

I have looked at motorway and the came back with £48,218.

Do you all think this is reasonable in the current market?

You can may be put it up at 50K and see how it goes.
Just as an opinion, why not ask one of the indies as well? Eg Ashgoods or 911Virgin.

I'd say that's an excellent trade offer and reflects the relatively low mileage.

You might get a bit more advertising it privately for £49,999 but it may take a while and will obviously be a bit of a hassle.

I've never used the likes of motorway or we buy any car.

Not sure how reliable their valuations are.

Not very. A recent quote from WBAC offered me £37k for the GT4 :bandit: Of course I'd sell it to them for that but I also have a £30k admin fee.

Good luck trying to sell private. There's not a lot of buyers about who seem to have the cash if trying to sell my GT4 is anything to go by.

The Motorway first figure is more indicative and then you'll have to see what the trade people actually bid.

WBAC give you the actual figure and when I used them it was exactly what I got paid.

A friend recently sold his 991 to Porsche Brooklands. I'd say it's worth asking them and 911V for a figure.

I think an OPC is going to give a low price as they have to service ( as previous ones done by Indy) before they can give warranty and also prep the car . Worth a go ...

I'd be very surprised if an OPC would buy in a 10 year old Carrera. They normally trade out such stuff when they take them in as a part-ex.

As mentioned above it's worth asking a couple of Indies. I sold my previous 997 to Ashgoods and the whole process was very easy.

That Motorway quote seems good for a 2012 C2. Mileage in your favour as others have said, but what you actually get offered is another thing. I doubt Motorway factor in whether the car has a Porsche service history for example with which it would still be eligible for another 3/4 years warranty (to me that is a 'must have' for private sale).

I just put mine in (high spec 2014 C4S Coupe @63,000 miles) and they came back with just shy of 49k. I would probably consider that if I had an immediate need for cash but it seems a little on the low side :nooo:. Autotrader can lead to wishful thinking but there isn't one for less than 55k.

To give you an idea i was negotiating for an early 2012 991.1 S with very similar spec, albeit 54k miles. Private sale. around £45k i think Will buy it though i dont see any records on brakes being done ( £1000 ) which id need to budget for and its going to need its very big 12 year service in a few months which is approx another £1500. So id budget £3k on top of that asking price.
Thats with no warranty.
I actually think these were cheaper or similar priced a couple of years back.

991 Carrera prices were at their lowest just prior to, and obviously through, the pandemic.

Like all desirable second-hand cars they went up in value for a couple of years. The economic downturn has reversed that and values are sliding towards their lowest ever.

It's a great time to buy if you haven't got something to sell or trade in. If you have, the cost to change hasn't altered much.

It's the people that bought in the last couple of years that will be hit hardest.

Have similar car (mines a CAB) been on sale for while and OPC wise I was offered a few times 40k most being 44k - they really aren't interested in cars of that age. Hope you do better than me :) :nooo:

The non-OPC was 44k and I could use that to get car I want from JZM but rather enjoy car

"We buy anycar" are absolutely terrible.
