Any recommendations on where or how to sell my 993 4S, and what it might be worth as I'm a bit out of touch with the UK market now? Things seem to have changed since I left the UK with the advent of sites like Collecting Cars (we have Bringatrailer.com in the US which has really changed the market).

I've had my September 1997 4S for over 15 years now. In the early years it was my daily driver but it's hardly been used since we moved to California 8 years ago. It's been very well looked after in proper storage but now feels like the time to sell as much though it pains me, it doesn't look like we're coming home any time soon.

Here's the spec:
Manual 6 speed
Artic Silver
Marble grey leather interior (black carpets and dashboard)
Hard-backed electric sports seats
Hollow spoke 'twist' alloys with colour crests
Electric sunroof
Motor sound package
RSR exhaust
Blistein suspension
Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres
Becker Cascade Pro 7941 radio
112,000 miles

It's complete with all original handbooks, service booklet, two keys and alarm remotes, red master alarm fob, tools, tyre compressor and full service history (file of all receipts, MOTs, etc since 2006). Immaculate paintwork (repainted in 2018).

Thank you!

I don't think you could go wrong by speaking to Tom at 911 Virgin initially.

Purchased something very similar quite recently and it was a thoroughly pleasant experience.

Value wise I'd say about £80k but as an embryonic member of the Illuminati I'm sure more senior figures will be along shortly to give an accurate figure.

I'm not going to offer a value as we're into Emperor's New Clothes territory here. Plus whatever price I give, Jonttt will tell me it's too cheap  That said there's a lot getting out of these cars taking the profit whilst they still can and ahead of interest rate rises next year - 5% inflation tells you something.

If you're not in the UK who's going to handle the transaction? In your circumstances (and I'm assuming you're not related to Dr George Eaton) I'd look at offering it to a specialist dealer. 911v will probably be my first call. It'll need to be 'tip top' but I suspect Tom will have a buyer waiting in the wings for the right car.

You might get a few £k less than going the conventional private advert etc. but given the time you've had it you'll be well up into profit and the hassle free sale is worth it.

On the plus side its not got the Moody Blue interior which kills it stone dead, although a light interior on a silver car is not to everyone's taste.

Zingari has wimped out of putting a price on it :floor: , I thought just with pot luck he may get close to getting one right at some point but seems he has taken a different tack

As above see if the main Indy's are interested ......and despite Zingari's comment above there are never many of these for sale over a year and always more buyers than sellers .........inflation may rise but none CGT assets will always perform well :thumb:

+1 giving 911 Virgin a call first, they have a list of people waiting for good 993's and will give you a decent price for it, alternatively there will be a queue of others like Paragon, Ashgoods, etc. You can phone around and see what offers you get.

Put on Collecting Cars if you are brave enough & want to take the time. If it's half-decent it will get good price, although uncertain how much more than a good specialist will give you.

Good to see the usual Zingari / Jonttt banter is never far away from posts like these!
