996.1 sport seats separating problem

Hi everyone , I have a 99 996.1 c4 cab with sport seats already fitted and on both front seats , the back leather surround has fallen away from the hard plastic backing of the seats, i have tried pushing the seal back into the back plastic groove but when I sit back onto the chair it pops back out .
Is there any fix to this ? I don’t really want to evo stick it into the groove ,
I have watched a YouTube fread and it looks like there should be x4 retaining “v” spring clips that hold leather into the groove , but mine has none .
I have looked for the part no. For the holding clips but no luck !
Can any one advise or is there a quick fix?
