Who wouldnt want this... Porsche 959 Canepa Gen I

I dispute that the styling is timeless. It looks like a 993 with a bad bodykit. A great feat of engineering though.

I don't know. It was pretty ugly when it was launched, and still is (ie timeless).

I still want one though - possibly the greatest car ever made (it created a whole new genre which spawned the F1, Veyron, Zonda etc...).
 
I wouldn't want it and I wouldn't drive it in public.

There was one in Leicester for a while several years ago and it produced two sets of reactions.

Amazement/shock/horror by other drivers, because the 959 isn't a small or quiet car. When you're on the road with or near it, you know it.

And disbelief. The 'Nah, m8, it's a repro' sort of thing.

So, ugly or not, I agree with you.

I don't think its ugly, but it is certainly distinctive.

The expression 'borderline bolier' springs to mind and in this case i definitely would.

Alfa SZ / RZ are in the same category
