Could be launched in 2016 or 2017

Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller recently confirmed plans to launch four new models by 2018 and it looks like the Pajun (codenamed for Panamera Junior) will be one of them.

Sources are indicating the model is poised to be green-lighted after a year of research and evaluation. If the model does get approved, it will be bold step as the Pajun is expected to rival the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class.

The Pajan would likely come to market in 2016 or 2017 and be a five-door hatchback like its bigger brother. However, there have also been rumours of a coupe and sport wagon variant.

Regardless of the car's appearance, it is expected to ride on the MSB platform and be powered by a variety of six-cylinder engines including:
- A 3.0-litre V6 TDI with outputs of 260 bhp (194 kW) and 320 bhp (239 kW)
- A 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with outputs of 320 bhp (239 kW) and 420 bhp (313 kW)
- A twin-turbo petrol which produces 520 bhp (388 kW) and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque
