Guys

Can anyone help with decoding the gearbox code on my 79 SC?

930.101.104.4R

I would have expected this to start with 915?

Am I missing something obvious?

Seems that the number I have is a casting number, not the gearbox serial number. Unfortunately, I don't have the gearbox here now to look for the serial number. Hopefully it is a 915 as I've already bought the 915 Wevo gate kit and shifter 😬

I have a '79SC and it has a 915 - so I think you are fine

need pics of the bus as well though as that's also in my plans for the future!

Gearbox number for 1979 SC

I also have a 79 SC.

My gearbox serial number is: 7197140/915/61

This is how it reads on the Porsche certificate of authenticity.

I think the first part of the serial number is specific to every unit, then the model of the gearbox which is a 915 but not sure what the last digit represents? Would be interested to know if anybody else could share?
