Is it me, or does the 996 Turbo look really good in side profile? It has a lovely low aspect at the front and, as ever, a sexy rump

Photo credit goes to VPD255M, thanks Matt!

More than that, I think the 996 looks better!

The 996 shape is on its way back 👌

I agree chaps :thumb:

Time has been kind to the much maligned 996 form, so much so that it will be having the last laugh methinks

Grab a good one while you can folks....

It does.

It's the line at the top of the rear PU that makes the old girls rear end so much sexier than her younger sister.

Sadly the bum looks like an after-thought on the 997.

Seems like the designer of the 997T was a face man.

The best of both worlds =

Agreed - the side and rear profile of the 996 is better.

Esp on the GT2

I guess the 996 can be described as a modern classic now with that raw Porsche stance from further back in time.

DynoMike, that's one hell of a pic! :thumb:

Here is my car and my cousin's car, photo credit goes to Steve Jobs

Loving the photos all, especially the GT2 :worship:

Here are a few more from the day, all taken by Matt on my iPhone :camera:

I particularly like the third shot. Bear in mind that the right hand side on the car is sat in a slight depression which makes it look a bit odd.

In turbo form the 996 is a very, very well-rounded design.

Aesthetically, the 997.1 GT3 is very good, but you'd need a 997.2 GT3 to beat the design, all IMHO.

Thanks for posting Mike. See, I've been telling you your turbo looks the business!!

No worries Matt, thanks for taking them :thumb: Yep, the Turbo is a keeper, especially after Joel's opinion at RSJ

HSC, your Lapis Turbo looks slammed!! Is that at GT2 ride height??

I think the 996 turbo is a very well resolved design, which will stand the test of time. It's muscular but still quite lean and looks small compared to newer cars.

Here's my RSJ supplied Slate Grey manual X50 which is still a amazing drive after 4 years of ownership.

As Porsche intended. Unscrubbed, but loved :cloud9:

And with Lands End as a backdrop

I don't pics on here much, so I had to create a photo bucket account. Well, here goes. Inspired by your photos, here are some of mine ...

Or from the front

Just goes to show a Turbo is faster, even out of the garage.
