993 insurance modifications and wheels

My 993 has the 18" split rims. I have seen these on many 993's does anyone know if they are an optional extra or are they sold separately. Because my Insurance company want to know if there are any modifications on my car. I am thinking if these are a factory option I shouldnt need to mention them on the form.

The ones on the targa look like "17 Targa wheels".



Perhaps yours are the very similar-looking "18 993 RS 3 Piece" wheels

697171 should confirm it. Either way both sets of wheels are official Porsche wheels. I am not 100% sure that this still wouldn't affect your Insurance though. Given the implications of being caught out in the event of an accident it might be worthwhile discussing it with your prospective Insurance company.
