Replace Kenwood DMX7520DABS

So I've had a Kenwood DMX7520DABS stereo fitted for a while, but rather stupidly I've buggered up the buttons after spraying cleaner on the screen and I can longer adjust the volume. To be honest I've never been very impressed with the unit, seems to be style over substance with far too many fiddly features. I only use CarPlay so If I buy a new unit, a Sony for example, will it simply connect to the existing cables or would I need to get new ones?
