Hello all
I am provisionally looking at a cayman gt4 however I've been offered a potential 911 Turbo - whale tale.
A bit of history of the car, it's been resprayed to jet black which looks mint but was originally gold.
Service history I think the owner did mainly all of the maintenance with Porsche parts.

The price he wants is reasonable price for a car like those

Thanks all

I love a 930!

That could be a bargain.........or it could equally be an absolute money pit!

Have an aircooled PPI specialist check it over for you so you know what's not been done / done properly.

I would take a good one over most cars but a GT4 would be a safe bet if you are looking for hassle free motoring.

Good luck and please tease us with plenty of photos if you go 930 😋

You need way more info to value the car.

I think it sounds VERY expensive for a colour changed car that has been self serviced. 930s are well and truly in the collector market now and many would run a mile from that.
As long as you realise it will be a hard sell when the time comes then the rest is up to you.

Iconic cars but so far away from a GT4 it's almost impossible to compare. Decide your use for a car and go from there. A 930 will drive like bendy bus compared to a GT4.
However a GT4 isn't very interesting if you prefer a drive out for a Sunday lunch or if you're into classic car shows. Horses for courses.

Personally though if I was buying a 930 I'd be looking for a straight original car in it's original colour, with proof of an engine rebuild and loads of paperwork.

Good luck though. Be sure to report back. :thumb:

Hello all

First off thank you for the comments and advice

I went to look at it this morning. What a beautiful car when you see it In person. However from the get go I was put off by the state of it inside. An utter mess.
I was also put off by the lack of paperwork and it does seem majority of stuff was done by owner I think.

I also had a read of the thread you posted and was on the back foot straight away....

Anyways maybe another 911 will come my way

After spending 10K I am still only 80K in and now have a perfect 930 Turbo that I know everything about.... its all not all bad!
I have had GT products and modern 911's, NOTHING puts a smile on my face like the 930.....but I agree you need to find the right one!
