This may have been mentioned before but Macan owners can take their car for a software update at their local Porsche dealership. Apparently this update has been available since 2018. Whether this update is for petrol and/or diesels unsure but a call with your chassis number should give you the answer. They will need the car for a couple of hours incidentally. The service manager said do not expect any major differences on how the car drives.

Was told its an over spill of the VW emissions scandal, to get the houses in order.
Expect to see your displayed MPG halved.
Challenged my service manager about reports of lumpy performance after doing it.
He said that was on the earlier update, they have since revised it and it should be smooth.
Told him my car ran smooth anyway and as there were no other benefits, have refused it.
He did not deny the MPG issue either.

A Recall is where a manufacturer has identified a fault where there is a possible hazard and as such there is a bit more urgency to fixing the issue .

A Campaign is a minor issue , usually a software update to improve or negate a possible issue or replace a minor item ..

Ie .. 991/981 had an issue with the fuel flap lid solenoid .. premature failure .. this was fixed by replacing the solenoid ..

This is carried out when the car is in for service , it was not uncommon to have 4-5 campaign "fixes " on a service .

The customer is not often told about these .. Porsche is billed direct and they are pretty common across every manufacturer .

Most people get their first few services done at an OPC so these are done automatically .. the issue is for those few that get their first and future services done at a Non OPC ..

In these cases its well worth phoning an OPC , giving your chassis number and confirming is there are any open Campaigns to be completed .. in which case as its free then it's well worth doing .

There are still active ones going back over 20 years .

Can't comment on the emissions side but with any model there are usually many tweeks and replacements of items that are needed as issues are identified over the long term which were not apparent during the original testing of the vehicle in design stage .
