When attempting to check the oil level I continually receive a 'car not level' response. I've tried various approaches including leaving the car in the garage (level floor) for 10mins after a run, trying numerous times in quick succession, trying immediately after coming to a halt (engine running for all of these) etc.
Suspect the sensor has failed, or loose wiring, but cannot find confirmation for position of sensor for the Mezger engine.
Previously (recently) the oil level check was working correctly.
I have read that there may be a separate sensor to warn of seriously low level. I have no warnings showing, but have also read that there is only one sensor which measures the normal level check and also triggers the low oil warning. If the latter then obviously this needs fixing immediately. Not sure which version is correct. The car is booked in for a service in July so if there is a separate low level warning sensor I'll wait. But if all the checking relies on a single sensor I'll sort it sooner.
Could do with some definitive info on this please. If, as I suspect, the sensor needs replacing, is this a job a home mechanic can undertake or does it need to go to my local Porsche specialist - who's very good?
Thanks for any info on this.
