Lights green indicator in clock

My exploration of Herbie continues.. Today I'm puzzling over lights.

I replaced the bulb in my headlamp switch today (using 1.2W bulb - hope that was correct). Now the green indicator in the clock only comes on with the sidelights (switch position 1). The green clock indicator goes out with a further turn of the switch (to position 2).

Now I could have sworn the green clock indicator was illuminated at both switch positions (1 and 2), prior To changing the little bulb in the switch.

So is the green indicator lit for others in position 2 (headlights on)?

Green light only comes on in position one when you switch on the side lights, goes off in position 2 head lights on:thumb:

As with so much I'm finding with this wonderful car, that's rather odd. Onwards up the learning curve!! Thank you!!

Any advice on how to add and wire such a light in, my '95 car has not got this feature, can be so difficult in poor light locating the ignition switch.

Our earlier cars have a little bulb in the key fob for exactly this purpose. However they're not great are they!

I think 1996 models onwards had these in the dash.

I think the mounting hole is already in the dash, just covered over by material.
