Gearbox rebuild time

So can I ask, what's the consensus on the best oil to use for the gearbox ?

I've just changed mine with the recommended grade 75w-90 thats all. Not expensive. The original oil at 73k was filthy. 20 quid for oil i think i spent on a good brand.
In my kit car (porsche g50 box) i used 80 quids worth of Redline shockproof oil as it was being abused with 440ftlb and 500bhp along with a paddle clutch and torsen diff. Overkill i believe for a road car however if you change it reasonably regularly ie maybe 40-50k . Not sure what porsche recommend on that however

Thats a bummer Tony, hope it all comes together nice and easy for you.

Update

I got the car back today

I am super pleased with the outcome

It drives faultless ,super smooth light gear changes straight from cold and the Quaife ATB diff is going to be a great upgrade judging by the drive home
There was far more grip on twisty bumpy roads and punching out of the corners on the power way earlier than before with more control and confidence

Parr Motorsport were an absolute pleasure to deal with ,very professional and informative through out the month the car was with them and a 2 year warranty gives me total peace of mind

I am a happy lad despite Xmas being cancelled :thumb:

The smile is back

Pretty scary stuff :-| :( - some crazy costs involved too :what: - glad your superb car is back on the road!
