Has anybody tried taking apart the internals of a facelift C2/4 Halogen headlight. They are made by Hella.
I want to replace the standard halogen H7 dip beam projector in the headlights of my 03 Targa with a retrofit Morimoto Mini Bi-Xenon HID projector. The beam pattern and light output of these modern projectors is terrific, much better than the old Litronics. And they aren't expensive - about £80 for two. Also they are very similar in size to the existing Hella H7 dip projector fitted in the headlight assembly. So they should fit without too much difficulty - IF the existing projectors can be removed from the headlight shell. What seems to be blocking their removal rearwards are the black plastic blocks and slides that make up the headlight height and lateral position adjusters. It isn't clear how these are fixed on the inside of the headlight shell, clipped or bonded.
Any ideas, suggestions?
