Advice on Fuchs - can they be wrapped?

I bought a sweet set of 18 Fuchs for my 993 over the weekend - i was planning going down the hollow twist route but these came up and I have a set of twists (not hollow) and fancied a change - the issue (if it is an issue) is that they are the solid black faced version and I would like the silvered "petals" - is it possible to get a vinyl wrap applied to make them the silver faced version? They are far to good a condition to have them refinished and totally genuine so thought this was a viable alternative, plus could switch up the face colour as and when the mood takes me.

any advice as to where i may be able to get these done in West Yorks would be appreciated - near Pontefract is my base

I would say yes its possible. I tried myself when I had some Fcuhs style wheels. Very rough and ready but it worked okay however I never took it any further. Any decent wrap place could do it or if your handle with creating a template and some scissors try it yourself.

yes, thats pretty much what I am thinking - I have read a bit about it and some are reluctant due to the speed it would revolve at, could seriously shorten the life of any film applied, then there is the heat from the brakes.........I just need to find someone willing to give it a try

I would not think wrapping them a good idea. It slightly depends on the wheel style but they can be subject to more wear and tear than normal side panels. You then have aggressive brake dust to contend with etc, etc........ I've never seen wheels wrapped but that not to say it can't be done. The norm would be to have them painted or powder coated etc.....

you can wrap wheels ? what else did i miss during my hermit years......

its not a full wrap - just pretty much stickers on to cover the "petals" in silver to match the anodised rim is what i am trying to achieve

Liquid wrap you just spray it on like paint got mine from Frost

thats exactly it!!!!!!!! how easy was that to do then, and how does it look after a few weeks of driving? does it hold up OK?

Time consuming to mask everything off and the hardest part is getting a clean edge however durabilty has been excellent been on about a year and looks no different

This is exactly the way to go! I've done at least 3 cars worth in the past, it lasts fine, and any scuffs can easily be touched in so they end up being more maintainable than a lot of wheels!
