My 997.1 manual C2S is approaching 110K miles and I want to undertake a gearbox transmission oil change. The car is used on the road, not track. As older engines are recommended to use different oil from 0W40 to 5W40, is it better to use a different grade of transmission oil for older gearboxes? My clutch was replaced c60K miles ago. Thanks

Stick to the standard grade. Put thicker in and you'll not change gear very easily until it's hot.

Many on here (self included) swear by Motul Gear 300 75W-90.

Just make sure you take the filler plug out before the drain plug. If the filler plug sticks after you have drained it, you will have a real problem. Also, the oil will drain more easily.
