991 Rear Lettering

Picking my car up from the bodyshop tomorrow, freshly painted in Arrow Blue :Dance-Tap: Haven't seen it yet so a little excited/nervous! Big change from the previous midnight blue!

Thinking about changing the rear lettering to the 991 style P O R S C H E with just 911 underneath all in back. Previously had just 911 on its own but think the rear just needs a little more, quite like the smaller 911 numbers of the 991 too! Wondering if anyone else has done something similar on their 997, would like to see some pics before making my mind up?

I can't help with the badge but we need pictures of before and after the colour change. I would suggest no badge for a while to ensure the paint goes hard although I'm not sure how long that takes

I am in a similar quandary so keen to see how this plays out...

I think I have a black 991 '911" badge in the garage.
It's a good copy not OE.
PM me your address and I'll post it to you if you want to see how it looks.

I think theres a thread on rennlist or similar with applying the lettering, if you want it to look right the lettering is on a curve, not straight so it appears straight when you look at it. It could also be on the 997 mods group on facebook - i'll try and find it for you.

Just 911 would be cool enough 8)

Think a black P O R S C H E on its own would look the business.

Will upload a few pics soon! collected my car this evening and I needn't have been nervous, over the moon with the colour and finish! :D

Won't be applying any badges/decal for a week or two at least, the paint will be fine as it was properly cured under infrared lamps.

May just go this way for the time being if I can;t make my mind up! Less is more sometimes.

Really useful, thank you :thumb:

Rob, Here's mine :thumb: you do need to curve it very slightly the 991 template doesn't fit but each letter is one letter wide gap between them we measured a 991 to find this out :thumb:

This guy built a jig using Lego Technic on his 997 to get the right curvature.

:worship: That's perfectionism.
