3.6 C2 ownership thread

Short follow up

This morning using my Foxwell NT520 I told the existing steering column module that the car had a multifunction wheel installed, which it hasnt, happy to report that this little trick was a success and the horn now works.

Cheers

First spend of 2021 was an MOT, not that the car did more than one journey out of the garage since its last one, I think I managed 280 miles in total.

Second spend was a new alcantara gear knob from Kendal OPC

That must be the same Paul Ruddy that was in the RSOC back in the day!

Sure I spoke to you at Dalmain House & I used to own RS2000, AOR 263V which you later did & I was reunited with at the Lakes Tour years later. Wanted one again but I've moved onto to Porsche now as the prices are just too much now! 944 S2, then a Cayman & now a 996.

The 997 looks exceptional!

Guilty as charged, sold my last RS2000 in 2008, prices started going stupid and took all the fun out of it, no one wanted to use them anymore.

Myself, Martin Mackay and Dave Oneill, all three of us ex club MK2 registrars bought 944's , we've done quite a few euro trips since and a few other Escort RS lads have also bought and come along.

Strange times when an old Escort costs more than a 911, glad I enjoyed them when £5k would buy the best out there.

Pretty much my thoughts too Paul. I'm pleased I had them when I did.

Nice pic of AOR!

Had a run down via Keswick, Ambleside and Windermere early this morning to collect a new front arch liner from Porsche Kendal after a speed hump snagged the leading edge of one last week and cracked it.

Was a beautiful morning so snapped a quick photo.

Cheers, Paul

An excellent thread this one, really enjoyable. Has inspired me to get the cleaning kit out, i just need to clear some space in the garage...

This last week I stashed the car elsewhere while I epoxy coated the garage floor and painted the walls again.

Brought the car home yesterday and pleased to report that it wasn't stuck to the floor this morning, result !

Cheers, Paul

Roll on the 21st June, I need to get out more !

In all seriousness the car should have been parked at a hotel near to Colditz Castle today after attending the Dinslaken Porsche show, for obvious reasons that hasn't happened.

Hopefully a few events will start soon

The latest update is that the car is now sold

It wasn't on the cards and it wasn't advertised, it just happened.

My wifes Boxster sold the week before so I'm down to a Passat tdi for now.

Cheers

Oh goodie, more posts to come then!
Congratulations on the new Carrera.

Will be watching with interest as having some exhaust and suspension work done then will SORN at the end of October and crack on with some cleaning jobs (won't be to your standard though)
