Zip at rear of headlining?

My missus noticed a zip running across the width at the rear of the headlining in my 993. Anyone got any idea what it's for?

Nah. All 911's have them going all the way back (well a long way back anyway - pre 80's). No idea why you need a zp there though. We need someone who has had to refit one to tell us.

I think that it you look at the length of the zip that its almost exactly the same as the 3rd brake light. Maybe the earlier ones were there for aerial fitting / carphones etc.

I'm picking up my car later from the coach trimmer, so I'll ask him.

It allows you to get at the sunroof mechanism. (It may well allow you to get at the 3rd brake light, but my 3.2 has the zip and a 3rd brake light was never an option for a 3.2 !)
