Done 400 miles in Z4 and am very impressed.

Tart's boudoir colour scheme a shock and not really to my taste.....but i got hold of a launch car for no premium and as such am pretty happy.

Never have driven a boxster so cannot compare......but see the pics (which Phil will hopefully load on my behalf) and judge for yourself how it's "looks" are a curious slash and cut affair in comparison to the rounded-ness of the boxster.

Z4 will date quicker i'm sure.....it's just too much of a stylised fashion statement.

However - on the road it drives really strong. No discernable "flex" & a very smooth delivery of it's 230 BHP. I would be very happy if asked to do 300-400 miles in a day as it is a real cruiser and absurdly comfortable.

I apologise in advance to all right-minded Porsche purists for the fact i've uploaded Non-Porsche photo material onto the site....but whilst not a classic "beauty" it does arrest your eyes, yes??

Finally...take a look at the newest edition of "autocar"......interesting report of Z4-v-Boxster.

What do you think?

Jay Jay

Having seen one in the fleash in Barcelona a couple months ago I have to say that it a nice looking motor. I would also imagine based on my experience of BMW that the build quality is spot on - probably better than Porsche !!!.

However I would also presume that the engine not - although nice will not come close to the induction roar of a 911.

Regards

I havent driven one but had a good look on the Launch day last week and I have to say I am really not a fan. I agree with you Jay Jay on the styling, it looks like its trying too hard to make a design statement.

Having said that I am not a great fan of the boxster either...I think its a "convertible" thing for me..they just aint my cup of tea...with the sole exclusion of an E-Type.

Ooops...looks like I have offended just about everyone here apart from 993 and 996 coupe owners!!!

...and as for the 996

I'll get my coat.

Z3.... you are a hairdresser. Z4..... you own the hairdressers shop. Boxster.....you want to be a hair dresser.

Hehe I see a pink one everyday....very cool cars. Lets leave the stereotypes and generalisations of people who drive these cars at the door. Jay Jay Im sure could not afford a C4S if he was a hairdresser!

You never know he might actually be top "celebrity" coiffeur Nicky Clarke ??????

He would not have such taste in cars(the C4S), with a hairstyle like that!
