Which tuner for 996-7 Turbo

Hi All,

It has been a while since I've been on here, I've added a fast Audi Avant to the fleet but still have X2 996 cars lol.

I'm now assisting my brother with his search for either a 996 or 997 turbo..... And he asked me who is the tuner of choice these days?

9e used to be the go to company but I've heard more and more about ES Motors, who seem to be on many YouTube channels. They seem to state they make the World's fastest and Quickest Porsche...

So over to you..... What is the tuner of choice these days for the 996-7 Turbo cars??

I cannot comment on other tuners, but if you are ok with the spanners then Markski Tuning over in the USA is a great guy and record holder!
It was a big decision to go the remote tuning route but with todays internet and communication he could have been down the road, drawback as I say, is if you are not comfortable working on your car or have limited knowledge then maybe someone local is best unless your Indy can work with him :thumb:

I went with 9e also. ES Motors are about 30mins from my house & 9e were about a 3hr drive.

Unicorn developments are also highly rated so it really depends on what you want and where you live.

One thing which 9e did was they did a thorough front to back inspection of my 997 turbo and gave me a list of anything which they felt needed fixing/replacing prior to any tuning work. They also did a full inspection of the engine & turbos to make sure they were happy that they could handle the planned modifications. My car had done 106,000 miles but engine/turbos were all within new tolerances still. Prior to this, I had various email & phone conversations with Ken detailing what I had already done to the car and deciding on the best package/options for what I wanted. So it was very much not a "drive in, drive out remap type of tune".

Markski for a standard car adding bolt ons/tuning

Fearnsport for maintenance if you're near the Midlands.

9e if you are in the south.
 
Via 9e. Now just paint left - top top work as good as factory/OPC :thumbs:

Minty 9e tuned to 700 PS @ 59,000 miles so thats a tad over 680bhp. Circa 750PS on raceful. Drivetrain has been faultless over next 45,000 miles and driven like I stole it ask Ken/Adam they can not believe I've not blown up engine/gearbox Minty driven very hard on road and track. Heated buckets sourced and installed via 9e. If you have a turbo there is only one destination if you want headache free motoring on steroids. Not the cheapest or fastest but quality service levels and 100% reliability rarely are. 104k 997 restored to new via 9e. Going back to them at some stage for built engine and gearbox. Off out again in a mo :devil:
