OPC (mine will still use a local VW Commercial centre). Not sure of cost.

OR

Local MOT centre, garage?

I use my OPC but that's because they do it in-house otherwise I'd find a specialist near me who provided this service.

I go via PSR. They out-source the MOT +10%, but I always get other stuff done at the same time like an interim oil change or service or brake fluid change etc, so the extra cost is negligible. They also carry out a pre-MOT check FOC too, which makes life a bit easier and justifies the 10%.

OPC. They rang me up last week (it's due end of Feb) to book me in to ensure I got a courtesy car (I'm looking forward to what they give me) and all for £50, which isn't bad considering I'll likely get a 991 for the day (about £20 more than the local garage I MOT'd the BMW in last week).

Just MoT's (or somewhere similar) - when I first had my 996 done at the local OPC I was most disappointed it had a cert from some random nearby.......so decided it was easier to get it done close to home and cheaper.

Parr did mine this year (and several years before I owned it). It was cheaper than a lot of garages around this way, but they just take them round to the Generic MOT station on the industrial estate.

The upsides for this are that the local MOT station do all of their MOTs so the Porsche novelty shouldn't be an issue, they are used to having these in regularly. More importantly was that I went across country and had a great blat across the A264 (and others) to get there on a Saturday morning :)

My brother works at a local garage so I get all cars done there with the 40% staff discount.

Cheers guys. Will enquire about OPC cost, but as they are half hour away and out-source, will likely look for a new local guy too.

Wife's BM also due month later for its first MOT!

An MOT station is an MOT station is an MOT station.

I use the one a mile from my house for all the cars in our household and watch them do it for £50 (or £39 if it coincides with a voucher in the local paper).

Just around £50/-

Nearly MOT time for me too, was going to give Paragon a go as I've never been there, and would like to look at some of their Turbos for sale.

I had mine MOT'd at the OPC this week for £54.85.

Be prepared for the obligatory advice that it needs new discs and pads, isn't it the unwritten rule?!

I always go to my local MOT station, have used them for years with all sorts from Vans to M5's etc

Would I use a main dealer, hell no, a fool and is money is easily parted springs to mind, why pay over the odds for an MOT when they all do the same thing, One charging £30 and one at £56 odd???

Letchworth Garden City, Herts - £29.95 and I watch over my car like a hawk while it's being done.
