Hi,

I am just trying to track down what ecu I have in the car, been looking on the net but there are so many different answers, so far I have been told its a Bosch M5.2.2 ?

Car is a very late 1999 996 C4

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Lee

Can you advise the 10th digit of the VIN please.

eg WP0ZZZ99ZYS603552

This one is "Y"

Thanks for the reply, I will get the vin and let you know what it is when I get home

Cheers

Motronic 7.2 by MY

But I didn't need to check that.

I just noticed your's is a C4 - ALL C4s are 7.2

Only early C2s are 5.2.2. - later had eGas 7.2 (dependent on VIN MY)

Thanks for the reply and the info :)

I can now get on sorting the software and making a start on some ecu disassembly.

Thanks
Lee

What are you hoping to gain from a remap? I am interested as a 2001 C4 owner .

Hi Stebed,

TBH I think the car could have a little better pick up also there are a few flat spots across the rev range which i would like to iron out, plus I enjoy doing these kind of things as there is always room for improvement :)

I have done a lot of mapping work on Turbo cars, mainly Jap cars but I specialize in the Mitsubishi Evo range and have been doing this over the last 12 years, so am now looking to see what can be done with the Porsche.

Cheers

The max power gains are minimal (circa 12 bhp), but as said, I found the in-gear (mid-range) much improved and felt a lot more spritely.

Hi,

Yeah this is the main part that I think needs looking at, its just a bit flat, max power is for the dyno and the pub :D

A remap is more about drivability, as you say mid-range.

Cheers

Just checked my dyno, it was actually +16bhp 8)

Mine's a pint!
