What did you buy your 997 this week?

Thanks for sharing the photos. The stance of your car is superb - love it!

Bought and fitted RGS radiator grills to protect my nice new AC condenser rads:

Also bought some other random bits from Design 911 at the same time:
  1. Vacuum pipe to replace the damaged pipe on the back of my airbox (fitted)
  2. Ignition key surround trim as the old one was badly scratched and had seen better days (fitted)
  3. 911 engine cover badge to replace the Carrera S badge (will fit later in the week when I have more time)

I also ordered the RennLine repair kit for my broken cupholder but that's on backorder. Crazy money for 3x metal cog wheels and a couple of other tiny metal components (£85.50), but still the cheapest way to repair the broken mechanism.

Why?

1. Admire cupholder, but do not touch it.
2. Remember you are driving a beautiful sports car, and you're ahead of time, because of the beautiful sports car.
3. Stop at coffee shop, order latte, sit in.
4. Look at your car through the coffee shop window, drink coffee.
5. Continue journey.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to the correct fitment of Bosch Aero Wipers? I’m finding conflicting info online.

I've not tried these but in my research I've come across these
Bosch Wiper Blade Aerotwin AP22U, Length: 550mm
Bosch Wiper Blade Aerotwin AP21U, Length: 530mm

Ignore the above this thread below shows that the above wipers don't fit and suggests alternatives

I went through the same thing when I got mine last year. In the end I reached the conclusion that you could have an aero blade for the drivers side but the passenger side needs to be concave/curved and don’t come in aero. I settled on this matching Bosch pair which work well:

Bosch SP21JS (note this is NOT the same as SP21S)

Bosch SP22S

Halfords stock both. There’s also another brand who do silicon blades in the correct shape but their name escapes me.

I much prefer this look to the version that is fitted in front of the vents.
How were they to fit?
Did you end up fitting the centre section as well?
Very easy to fit. There is a video on the RGS website that shows the process in detail. Only thing I did differently was to add an additional couple of small cable ties to the vertical centre bar just to give additional support. As my car doesn't have a centre radiator I didn't bother with the centre grill. I know there is a possibility of some debris (leaves, etc.) potentially going down the gaps on either side of the centre opening, but I think this is minimal. I'll keep an eye out as to whether this proves to be a problem or not...

Replaced Carrera S badge with 911 badge. I like the cleaner look.

Just fitted 15mm spacers to the rear and 7mm spacers to the front of my 997.2 turbo.

Had these on my 997.1 c2s and to be honest they seemed to make more of a difference on the c2s than they do on the turbo...

Not been for a drive yet but will remove them if they impact the handling in anyway... But in first glance feel like they make the wheels look more lost in the arches rather than fill them which is what I was hoping for.

Steering clock (95565221112) and a replacement steering wheel loom (99761267200). And this as an experiment:

What is that?
As a pure guess I’m assuming headlight surrounds??
That's a spot on guess! I'm experimenting with vinyl 🙈
