What did you buy your 997 this week?

I did the same last month, quite a straight forward bolt off, bolt on job. Similarly, the top and bottom were separating!

Unfortunately, on mine it transpires the rear pipe into the engine bay is split which I believe is an engine out job to replace 🥲
Is it the one by the rear wheel? Mine went in the same place. I used a metal putty and a jubilee clip and it’s still holding. I will replace when the time comes

Unless you've another reason to drop it, you might investigate other options - a hydraulic hose firm (pirtek, but others exist too) might be able to help without engine drop.

Hi is it possible to replace high level brake light so it luminates all the way across and not just the 10-12cm in the centre
Thanks Gary

PIONEER SPA-77DAB and fitting kit for my 997.2. Easy DIY install and excellent product. It even vastly improves the BOSE sound quality although I can also say that the previously installed mr12volt also made improvements to the BOSE.

When I lifted my frunk lid the other day I found that the lifter strut had failed which almost resulted in a head injury...

I reckon one of the two had already failed and the remaining one had been doing the heavy lifting without me realising. Anyway I had a pleasant 10 minute job earlier today to replace with a fresh pair of Stabilus (who make the official Porsche ones) lifter struts. It was one of those simple, quick jobs that just works and makes you happy. There is definitely a stronger lift on the frunk lid now. On closer inspection after removing one of the struts was bone dry and the other was covered in oil so definitely ripe for replacement.

For anyone interested I ordered 2 x Stabilus 8541UI struts from Autodoc for under £40 inc delivery

I like the subtle change.

Aside from the looks, does it make any noticeable difference to the handling at speed? I am specifically thinking if it makes the nose feel a little less light at 70mph?

Id say yes, but unsure if that is placebo or real downforce influencing grip! It certainly helps with a little more aesthetic at the front, without going down the expensive Aerokit or GT3 route

The car is running all new PASM Bilsteins, H&R springs, DSC Controller and quite aggressive camber upfront (Fast Road Geo), so its pretty solid up front already

Splitter looks great. Could you post more pictures of your car from a side profile please? I'm keen to see the ride height with your H&R springs and the new splitter.
