Washing Wheel Hubs

It is the time of the weekend to wash the car. Driving through the muddy lanes in Kent in the last two days has left the car a bit dirty.

However, I can never get the wheel hubs really clean; always some residue of brake dust left behind. I have tried all sorts of products - trying Autoglim this weekend.

Does anyone have any top tips that leave behind shiny spokes? Thanks.
are you removing the wheels?
Are you trying to clean or are you trying to protect long term so your weekly clean is easy?

Protecting is best accomplished by the use of some specialist wheel wax -I use poorboys but there are loads out there.

Cleaning: as above are you removing the wheels? if so use the cleaner of your choice and then protect, this should give you 3-6 months of easy cleaning.
PS Autoglymn SRP will give some protection but I do not find it as long lasting as a specialised product on wheels.
Thanks for the tips. I was not planning on removing the wheels but will look into protector.
