Warranty Wise - any good

i know a motor trader and he puts a warranty on his cars using warranty wise.

Basically, I got a quote from them online and for 3 years, comprehensive cover with no excess and unlimited mileage (I do over 15k a year), they wanted an eyewatering 3k.

this bloke, putting the warranty through him, can get me the same cover for 1300 quid. the only downside is that he can only get max of 5k on any one item but it still goes up to a total of just shy of 19k in total (if that makes sense)

Should I take it?

Am i looking a gift horse n the mouth. I read the cover and it covers cyclinder head and all moving engine parts etc, even covers MOT failures, nav, AC the lot? up to £100-00 per hour labour at indie dealer (which Im happy with)

Oh forgot to say the car is a Gen 1 Cayman 3,4s

thanks,
Craig

i have used warranty wise in the past and they always been fine for me.

I've got 6 months warranty from RPM. If I've still got the car after that I'd like a warranty.

I've heard mixed reviews of Warranty Wise so I'll be very interested to hear how you get on.

RPM have done a borescope (I saw the photos on Saturday) but I'm still paranoid about IMS and bore scoring.

hello btb, yes im a paranoid type hence the questions about the warranty. I didn't have the boroscope done, I bought the car private for 15k which seemed cheap enough (only downside for me was no nav and 4 owners but its got all the stamps in the book and looks clean) I kind of took my chances but I thought a Warranty for 3 years that I can get for 1300 quid seems pretty cheap in relation to a bill of 3000 quid which seemed like a fortune.

BTW, I went to Hayward & Scott, they quoted me 850 plus VAT for a purpose made replacement muffler set up.

Im seriously considering taking them up on this.

costs me £850 every year with Warranty Wise on a 2005 997, used them twice with no problem. This looks like good value

Yes, i thought it seemed pretty good and I sorta feel i got the car at a decent price to enable me to spend a bit.

what's your single item claim limit. this one limits me to 5k for any single item but 19k overall (which is more than the car is worth)
also no excess and unlimited miles!
I'm reckoning i will take it up.
