I have noticed that since the warm weather came along, the car takes almost no time to get up to temperature. With it being really hot the garage is decidedly warmer than usual, so I guess the oil is naturally warm.

I always let the oil get up to temperature before doing any hooning, and now this happens a lot quicker. Have those of you with wet engines noticed similar behaviour?

Mark.

Yes, I think the wet engined ones probably find that the oil on the garage floor under the car is probably warmer than usual!

:runsfromincomingrounds: :D

Actually, I noticed my 993's fan came on all by itself about 5 minutes after switching off after a spirited drive on a hot sunday morning last week- is this normal? It did go off again, so I assumed it was just doing its job...

Quite normal, the engine heat generated when car stationary would have triped the fan again, once the mean trip temp was reached.

If that makes sense.

I have heard 993 Turbo's doing this quite a bit, just assumed that it was particular to the turbo.

It is amazing the amount of heat that comes out the back once you are parked up.

very normal

but things heat up more quickly as all the bits don't have to fight the ambient temp, which right now are quite high !!
