Wanted Wanted: 997 iPod Y Cable

Hi folks, I'm a new member here having recently picked up a 2011 997.2 C2S.

I'm now looking for the iPod connector cable that originally came with these cars but no longer seems to be in mine (part number 9970449017 I believe).

I have one on order with design911 but they've informed me it's on back order and no idea if/when it'll come into stock. Similar story everywhere else I've checked, I guess they don't make them anymore.

So does anyone have a spare one lying around that they'd be happy to sell?

I was told, indirectly by someone else who was also looking for one, that they don't tend to have stock these days (it is pretty outdated tech to be fair). But no harm in trying them myself I guess. I will give some a call.

Hiya - I have one I may sell, I upgraded the headset to retrofit CarPlay so don't need it. I have a Bovee adaptor for it as well.

How did you upgrade the PCM to support CarPlay?

Hiya - upgrade to CarPlay is relatively straightforward if you're comfortable with PC build type skills. I bought the JoyeAuto kit which is a piggyback board that you add between the screen and the existing main board. Cost was circa £450 and an hour or so of your time. You can still use the original features if you want to - it's wireless CarPlay which is a must for me.
