I know there's a lot of threads about this on here, but I can't find any specific to the 996turbo, even on a general google search, so, I've discovered some Mayo in the top of my oil filler cap, can't see any oil in coolant.

Is this just the same as the the N/A mayo reasons or is it unusual in the Turbo and does it need further investigating.

I've owned the car for over two years and this is the first time I've seen it.

Thanks

Thanks,

I've not noticed any oil in the coolant however I do loose a bit, I put in 1litre of distiller water yesterday because it was below the minimum, however it wouldn't have been topped up in months, I do get a sniff of coolant from the front rads so I think there is a small leak somewhere there.

I will carefully try dip a plastic piece into the sump to check the oil itself.

Worse case scenario if it is a head gasket issue what are we looking at price wise and what are the common issues to cause such??

Thanks

I get this on mine at during the inclement weather seasons, as I did on my previous C2 also, short journeys, cold, damp,.... etc.

you can actually see the water condensation on your filler cap in the picture.

your water loss is more likely to be a radiator leak than a HG

:) Yep, seems to only occur on mine in winter. I run mine daily, but only short (8 mile round trip) journey to work/home. Seems quite normal.

Thanking you, feel a bit better about my spin home now :thumb:

Il get it checked when I get home and also do an oil change to inspect the old oil.

Mucho gracias :thumb:

I get it too, wipe it clear and take it for a good run.

Me three - and only during the cold weather ...
