Hi there,

Over the last 2 days the brightness on the trip computer display had reduced to point of near invisibility !

Anyone out there know why, how, and if this is a common problem?

Cheers

Yes its a common problem - and yes you can fix it yourself. I don't have an OBC, but I remember reading about how to fix this on Rennlist. Do a search in the 993 forum over there...

This link shows how you can do this (looks a bit heath robinson) but is still feasible.

Some comments about "you have to disconnect battery and access under steering wheel, watching out for the airbag" seem a little OTT also.

I guess you decide what you go with, but the above links do start with the petrol gauge - this is nowhere near the steering wheel so his logic is OK.
