Grin factor 10+. :D :D :D

Collecting my 996 Cabrio tomorrow to bring him/her home. The hardtop will be on so no fresh air motoring for me plus carfull of roof stand.

Am I excited? Do bears poo in the woods? :floor:

Insurance sorted. Unbelievably the annual premium through confused dot com is about the same as for my MGF. Ah well there have to be perks to being sixty.

Enjoy :D

The 1st trip is the best especially when you know it is yours :bandit:

cabriolet, even better, get the hardtop off to enjoy the recent mild weather and we also want to see some pics

Enjoy it.

Plus one on getting the hard top off.

They are heavy, you know. Quite a performance difference.

Congrats! You will sleep so much better afterwards. I endured disrupted sleep for weeks before collection and days after. Am OK again now :-)

Get help with the hardtop. they are heavy but more importantly they are cumbersome to handle and the weight is not (as you should imagine) in the center which exacerbates the problem for handling.

enjoy!

Ah, that's what caused it. I don't like seeing 0230 in the morning unless I need to.:lock:

The roof comes with a stand so I need to sort the place for the stand, maybe today but probably not until the weekend.

Thanks for the tip. I'd guess the weight to be in the glass, there are two of us and we managed to get the MGF's fibreglass hardtop into a purpose-made bag and onto hooks and I expect to do the same with the Cabrio roof but let's get everything home and weigh the job up. Driving with a roof up when it's not actually raining is going to be quite hard for me. :x

If there's the wrong types of leaves on the tracks tomorrow and my train's delayed :wack: :wack: :wack:

Thanks. Might go home to Suffolk via Wales hahahahha!

Pictures: yes, I'd intended to take a film camera for the home to collection point journey but you're all going to demand instant visual gratification so maybe I'll slip a little digicam in my pocket.

The roof: once it's off it will 99.999999% certain stay off.

Another good reason to be topless at every opportunity. :thumb:

i had a C4S cab in 04/05 and the roof was on it twice - the day i collected it and the day it was sold. 8-)

I think he meant the whole car rather than just the hard top. :)

I had a 996 C2 cabriolet earlier this year. IIRC it's quite a bit heavier than the coupe because of the extra strengthening needed when you chop the roof off.

Well boys and girls you don't need me to tell you that it's raining this morning so unless it's either (a) a local shower or (b) going to stop by lunchtime, my drive home will be in the rain. Boo!

I don't know where you are buying it from but it's dry here, but colder than it has been.

you will be fine... BTW is it the silver one from Northway?! that one looks lovely :-) enjoy! I may skip out of work for an hour or two today just to drive... am missing it badly as i haven't driven since Friday :?

Enjoy the drive back. Epic feeling. 12 months later, I still remember as if it was yesterday.

Looking froward to getting mine back in a few weeks.

Enjoy!

Are you home? Was it a great trip? Happy? Still in the garage with it? :-)
