Was talking to my mate who works for Porsche here in Tokyo and he explained that the new Tiptronic S is better than the last one for a few reasons, but the interesting thing was the 997 Tip's are made by a Japanese company!
Did you guys know this? Who are making the manual transmissions? The Korean's? I used work in an industry that gave me a LOT of inside info - too much - one of the things that shocked me was that Audi body panels are made by Hyundai in Korea.
Hyundai engines are made by Mitsubishi (Lancer sized cars) Amongst other things was that Sony doesn't manufacture hardly ANYTHING! Their TV's are made by Panasonic, Playstations by a dodgy Chinese company called Foxcomm - when will it all end.
By the way, the best one was Bally Shoes, they are made in India (only the expensive ones the Made In Switzerland ones) the cheapies are made in the UK or Italy. Actual cost USD 12.00 sell price - US 450 - 650.00. Most Bally staff will not know this or acknowledge it.
