now I was going to post this off-topic..... but after the disappointing BMW 6-series or so the press claimed.....

here's the Audi version of the Lambo Gallardo from about £75k......

one thing is for sure, the interior will be to die for, no question... Porsche take note !!!!

they state a V8 based on current 4.2 then the 5.0 V10....

wonder if Audi will slot in their new 6.0 V12 diesel or another D ..... after all their Le Mans racing in Diesels it must be a dead cert...

will it be better than a 911, obviously not ! BUT as Audi do looking good so well, it will sell cars.... until it gets bought by a premiership footballer !!

The original press pictures looked great - it also had that 450bhp + V8 engine from the RS6.

Here's an old pic I have:

Looks pretty similar to the actual thing. A worthy advisory to be sure!

agreed, Audi have interiors down to a tee,

however the new tt, looks bland and boring, and is no ground breaker, so if this is just a bigger version,

dont think it will take off,

time will tell

Mind you, you would want a whole lot of Audi for £75K!

and it's 4wd so no gt3 rival...

new Audi TT styling not as groundbreaking as before... if you've sat in a new A3/4 then it's not new

but the 1st diesel super car? it should do well as help's audi's image

wonder if they will make a cab version......

but as C4S rival...... now that Porsche are in the VW/Audi/lambo group..... the main market for this must be the bling world of the US !!

worth a test drive at least !!

Now you mention it... it does a bit!

Not a true rival for the 911 as only 2 seats.

I have just had a gander at the Audi uk website- quite alot of info about the R8 (and a rather cool video in a cheesy sort of way). The R8 I suspect will be quite a thing- in the right colour it looks sensational. Sounds nicely rumblesome too.

UK prices- £76k OTR for the manual, £81k for the sequential. A lot of money for an Audi, but competitive.

I hate to say it, but if I were in the position to buy a new 911 C4S, I would certainly be having a look at the R8.

I note they have given it a V8 rather than the V10... no talk so far of the V10, I guess we wait for the RSR8. Still, revs to 8250rpm, about 430 bhp 0-60 in 4.7, vmax 181 quite enough for me!

they are having a laugh with the prices.... unless it REALLY does drive ?

the on line PR looks nice but it was a frekking computer animation !!!!

note - BMW 6 Series, the 1st wave of 2004 models (new at £50-55k+) are all know creeping below the £35k mark in the used 2 year old market.....

That is massive money. Aston V8 moeny too. I'd have thought they would have tried to undercut the C4S by £10K, not add £5K to the price!

Perhaps the pricing strategy has been influenced, given that Porsche own 20%+ of VAG...

Talking of 6 series, the M6 will be the used buy of the century in a couple of years methinks.
