.......Just doesn't make sense.

It's the big clean weekend so I've started by giving her a thorough wash. Just stopped to have a sandwich and watch the GP Masters race.

Having had to use buckets of water rather than a hose pipe, I have used a total of 42 gallons of water. I reckon that with a hose, it would have been about 25 gallons. Have given her the full wheels off wash and ended up using a whole bucket (3 gallons) to rinse each wheel. It also took a good half hour longer than normal.

This afternoon, it's clay, cleanse and the first coat of Glasur.

Glasur'd mine last week and just washed it this morning (with a hose pipe!). Just love the first wash after waking - the dirt just falls off! :D

So now, after 7 1/2 hours work, she's been washed, clayed, HD Cleansed and 1 coat of Glasur. My back aches like a
b@stard
, but I'm going to give her 2 more coats of Glasur tomorrow then take some pictures on Monday if the weather's nice and I can still walk. :D

Once you've finished yours feel free to pop over to do mine, she's sat in the garage all lonely at the moment.

Sounds too much like hard work,

Washed mine on Wednesday evening, then spent the next 3 hours waxing with meguirars, she looked fine, however the whole waxing polishing think is very time consuming

Daz, its not like hard work when you're carressing your moist, glistening, Glasur cloated hands over the old girl's beautiful curves, and breathing in the heady scent of coconut

Go to Halfords and buy Turlte Wax "No Hose Wash"

Designed to clean properly but washes away with a lot less water.

Best product on the market once it is clean is TW Gloss Gaurd which seals the shine for months and then washing will be easy and it will come up looking polished

One for the shampoo.

Three for wetting car

Wash top surfaces then three for rinsing.

Wash lower surfaces then three for rinsing

Four for the wheels

Total 14 buckets. If you look at the date, it was the end of April so I gave it a propper wash to get rid of all of the salt and winter

. So, by my estimation, I used 68% more water by having to use buckets. Compared to what Thames Water are losing every day through lack of investment in the infrastructure since privatisation, it's not even a spit in the ocean. It ain't my problem so it's about time TW started spending rather than taking.

Pah, I reckon your 14 buckets was way more than the 3.6 BILLION litres of water that leaks through broken pipes every day, I hope you feel ashamed of your self
