Sunroof noise . . . . . .. Normal?

With the sunroof open I get a pressure fluctuation thrumming sound when driving between 30 and 40. I thought maybe the car doesn't have one of those pop up deflectors that tend to stop this sort of thing, or that it was broken, but there it is, working ok. If I put my hand into the airstream the thrumming stops.

Do they all do this or am I missing something?

All 911s have suffered from that since the model's early days.

Partially opening the roof reduces the drumming noise.

open the passenger window very slightly and the pressure noise stops.

Thanks guys. Shame they didn't just extend the height of the centre pop up flap but I'll try the window trick. Currently too hot to open anything as best all closed up to maximise the aircon.

I agree with the spoiler issue but I suppose they could have put the engine in the front as well ! Lol :floor:

Yes, but then it would be an Aston Martin. :floor:

Noise

The noise is caused by the volume of air in the cabin resonating, just like the sound box of a musical instrument such as a guitar. It is just the car singing to you...

Crack the window open slightly and it will stop, or change your velocity!

Slightly open passenger window worked a treat today. Thanks to all
