Hi All,
New member, long time lurker, and am at my wits end with an issue I've been chasing with my 2005 C2S (Cab) Tiptronic and was hoping someone might have some insight. This could be two completely unrelated issues but I thought it might be worth mentioning both.
At times my car stutters, there's not much rhyme or reason but I think it mainly happens when I lift off the accelerator and at relatively low revs (1-3k RPM). It's happened at 20mph in 2nd all the way up to 5th and crusing at motorway speed. By stuttering I mean it drops revs suddenly for a split second rapidly, causing the car to jump / lurch. When this happens I can also hear a clicking noise behind the dash which I assume is a relay rapidly switching open / close. This also only seems to happen when the car is warmed up. The few times it has happened in 1st / 2nd gear at low enough speed, the car can stall.
The second and maybe related problem, if I plug in a diagnostic tool (iCarsoft POR II) I get a code P1265 which I believe is a 'Airbag Control Unit - Signal Implausible'. I have tried clearing it but it always comes back. So here's the weird thing, I have no CEL appearing on the dash and no other codes I can see (apart from a 8004 - Terminal 50 which my mechanic says I can ignore). I have had multiple specialists look at this problem, they've tried donor Airbag Control Units, donor DME units, checked the wiring between, and no one can figure it out.
I have tried replacing all the relays on the board behind the dash, cleaning the MAF, cleaning the throttle body, tried unplugging the battery and leaving it to reset etc. but nothing seems to work.
So
1. Could these issues be related?
2. How am I not getting a CEL or any codes for the stuttering / stalling?
Any ideas or similar experiences?
