Strange noise while reversing

Hello! Since owning my 993 I have noticed that when I put the car into R and reverse, a strange whirring noise is audible.

There is no screeching or grinding but there is a noise present. Have any of you chaps had this experience with tiptronics?

Is it not the clever aircon system shutting the flaps so you can't get any possibility of CO coming in the rear intake point?

Thanks OC! I had no idea. Is that the case even when the A/C is off :?:
