My 1998 996 seems to stall easy when pulling away in first gear and reversing, it seems I have to give it far to many revs to get it going.
The clutch seema a lot heavier than a freinds 2003 996. Is the clutch on the way out?

My guess would be yes,

heavy pedal pressure is normally a sign that its seen better days

May as well do the rms at the same time

Would agree the clutch has seen better days. Watch for slippage under heavy acceleration and you know that its time for a change.
